An agency is on the shortlist when all three are true in TAI’s data:

1. It lists AI chatbots as a service on its TAI profile.
2. It publishes prices on its own website.
3. Those prices include both a starting build or audit price and a monthly plan, so you can see both parts of the price before you call.

Nobody paid to be on it, and the order is alphabetical. Being on it doesn’t make an agency better than one that quotes on request. It just means you can compare it on price before the first call. Prices are the agencies’ own published figures and may cover work other than chatbots.

What the shortlist charges

Across the 18 shortlisted agencies, the median starting price is £1,000 (lowest audit or project price each) and the median monthly plan starts at £150 a month. Across all priced chatbot agencies, starting prices run from £99 to £10,000 and monthly plans from £20/month to £1,500/month. How to choose between them

• Match the job. A website FAQ bot, a lead capture bot and a bot that books appointments need different skills. Ask for an example of the same kind of bot.
• Check where it plugs in. Ask which of your tools it will connect to (website, CRM, booking system, inbox) and who maintains those links.
• Price both parts. Get the build fee and the monthly cost in writing, and ask what is included in the monthly cost (hosting, AI usage, changes, support).
• Ask about ownership. Who owns the chatbot account, the content and the conversation data if you leave?
